The Indigo Story

I have worked closely with parents and children for 15 years, and Indigo has grown as I have received more and more requests from parents looking for the right help for their family and their children. I also offer consultancy and training for early years settings and schools.

I am incredibly passionate about helping to build children's resilience through supporting the well-being of the whole family. Children are very often overwhelmed by their ‘big feelings'. When we help them to recognise, understand, and communicate these, they can be happier both now and in the future. 

Every parent wants their child to be happy. Indigo will help you to develop the tools and strategies to simplify your family life and increase well-being for all. My aim is to help you to find peace and balance in your family life.

The approach I use will be tailored to your family's individual needs, and is always underpinned by a thorough understanding of all stages of child development from birth through to the teenage years. My influences include the Montessori approach, attachment theory, and contemporary neuroscience as well as both systemic and psychodynamic approaches to working with children and families.

I have worked in early years education for nearly fifteen years, and most recently held the position of Head of Education for Kids Love Nature, a role that has combined developing practice and mentoring early years practitioners at three ‘Outstanding’ nurseries as well as working with families.

My background is in Montessori education, and I hold both the Assistants to Infancy (0-3 years) and Casa dei Bambini (3-6 years) diplomas with the Association Montessori Internationale. My Bachelor of Honours degree focused in Early Years and Childhood Studies and following this, I gained Early Years Teacher Status. I am a qualified trainer of adults, have studied relaxation and mindfulness for children, as well as the Forest School approach, and trained to be a Doula with Michel Odent, the pioneer of water births.

I have spoken at national and local early years conferences, and regularly contribute to magazines. Publications include: 'Emotions' in Juno (2016), ‘Sustainability’ series in Nursery World (2016), Baby Hampshire Editor’s Blog (2015), Working with Parents in Horizons (2010) and ‘Synthetic Phonics - A New Approach?’ in A.M.I. Direction (2008).
